Hi~

I lost my laptop today on the bus and called Metro about a minute after I got off the bus...The operator told me that the driver checked the bus (I was the last on the bus, but who knows who boarded on the next stop) but there was nothing.

Is there a way I can find my laptop?...I know I made a dump mistake but just want to get some info...

Best wishes,

Jack

OMG, you lost your fancy X41? I have no clue what you can do, but hope that you will be able to get it back eventually.

Two things:

1. Call Lenovo and let them know that it is missing, and might be considered stolen.

2. Call the police Dept. and let them know it is missing.

Hopefully you have the serial number to support your claim with the missing laptop.

Be sure to go down to the lost and found at the bus depot, and look for yourself. There may be other concientous folk who turned it in, or it wasn't well-identified by the clerk.

File a police report. Then check ebay and craigslist daily for a "special sale", and be prepared to reclaim it - take a friend with you.

You must first file a police report, and get a copy of the report. Lenovo will do nothing until this is done.

Next, call Lenovo at 1-866-96-THINK and navigate your way to hardware technical support. They will connect you to a desk that tracks stolen Thinkpads.

If anyone calls for support with your system's serial number, it raises a red flag. They may even be a way to see if a computer with the specific MAC address logs onto Lenovo/IBM's network.

I left my T42p on an airplane and it went missing as well.
