2x512mb dual versus 1x1gb single channel benchmarks

okay so pretty much i had this question for a long time and i couldn't find actual answer in this forum. so here is the link with benchmarks for anyone else who is interested:

it seems like there is some minor adventage for using 2x512 ram versus 1x1gb ram however it might not he so from the consumer perspective. having 2x512ram sticks of ram prevents you from doing any kind of upgrade unless you sell both sticks. having 1x1gb stick enable you to make an upgrade. and the 0-10% adventage of having 2x512mb is nothing compared to having 1x1gb + 1x512mb or perhpas even (correct me if im wrong to assume this) 1x1gb + 1x256mb.
