How to delete backups?

I made a backup yesterday, it took ages, and it's cramming up my hard drive. System Restore'll be enough for me, and I don't even usually have that turned on anyway.
In the utility is there a way to delete the backup, or manually delete it?

I know where they are located in RFUBackups or something alike, but they are protected. Does anyone know how to delete them.

In Safe Mode you can open and look at the files and folders in C:\RRbackups. You cannot do this logged on as Administrator in Normal Mode - you will get: Access Denied. But in Safe Mode you will able to browse the directory with Explorer. Note that you have to have everything unhid in Folder Options to see the directory.
It is possible that you will need to change permissions on the C:\RRBackups folder to be able to delete it. This is done from the security tab when you right-click on it (in Safe Mode).

Thanks very much for this, I appreciate it. I don't want 15GB of space taken up on a 60GB HDD.

Rescue and Recovery has the option to delete the backups.
Look at optimizing the backups to save space...mark subdirs you don't care about as excluded...a good one to exclude is c:\drivers
Mark email PST files for single instance storage, or any other large, frequently changing file you don't need five copies of

I have Restore and Backup Ultra 4 or something to that effect, is RnR superior?
I'm surprised software installer/upater hasn't given me the oppurtunity to install this software.

You must have bought your computer in/around year 2004...
I also got my T42s (2373-K5H) Nov'2004, and it also came with Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore Ultra, version 1.00
Soon after that, it's just called Rescue & Recovery (aka RnR), v2.00, v3.00, v3.10 (btw, DON'T use v3.10 from user feedback).
I use RnR v3.00.0025.00 myself, made a Base install (with all my favorite Windows UI interface preferences, but no program installs).
Then I have a working RnR image that I just revert back to, after I try any new Trialware or encounter any spyware problems...
(I keep my data on one external USB HDD, and also copy my RnR images to yet another separate external USB HDD for good measure).

It is also possible to remove backups from your harddrive using the commandline executable "rrcmd.exe" which is located in the RnR installation directory.
Type "rrcmd" for a complete list of options.

Thank-you both for that, I did it the safe mode way but they will both come in handy in the future I'm sure.
