Glossy Screen

#1 Post by atct86 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 10:35 am

So what is up with the Glossy screen appearing on alot of notebooks?

What are the pros/cons?

I, personally noticed that the picture seems to pop alot more, but the relfections seem to slightly bother me.

Will this technology or fad ever make it into thinkpads?

The main pro is Glossies can be viewed in direct sunlight where as you'd be hard pushed to see anything on a matte.

The main con is the reflections.

Yea, the colors are crisper, but they double as mirrors. I highy doubt that we'll ever see them on TPs; such a move would result in mass cries of outrage. Glossy screens blow, stay away from them.

this has been talked about recently on the forum. do a search on here, and just a simple google search. there's an answer for any question you have, and many things you never want to know. just put forth some search engine effort.
