Being prompted for BIOS password?
I turned off some sort of password because I didn't want the system to check the security chip upon boot up. I just wanted to do the finger swipe at the Windows login screen.
Well, now whenever I start my z60m. it goes to a white screen w/ blue text indicating that the fingerprint reader has been set up for a BIOS password but there is not one set?
Which password should I enter here in the BIOS? The Windows login password?
I'm stumped.

When I iniitally set up my laptop, I enabled the security chip; upon bootup there would be a pop up with the red dots going back and forth saying it was checking the status of the chip. My system is no longer doing that and I can't find the setting to get back to that bootup condition.
My system says chip is enabled, however it is not prompting me for the security password and I cannot change or enter a passphrase on the password security screen in TP productivity.
This isn't critical, but I want to be sure something isn't disabled that shouldn't be.

Hey, I thought I'd post this here first:
I have an x60s with a fingerprint reader and I'd like it to prompt me for a BIOS password that will be redirected to a fingerprint swipe, and then upon Windows boot I want to get that prompt again.
I have been able to either use a fingerprint as a BIOS password and then I get automatically logged into Windows with no further action, or I disable the BIOS pw and Windows will ask me for a fingerprint. But not both. I want to fingerprint requests (they can all be overridden with passwords) but the FP reader is too "user friendly" and no combo of BIOS HDD/BIOS/Logon/Supervisor pw's enabled will have both a BIOS prompt and Windows prompt for fingerprints. The closest I have come is a BIOS pw and a Windows fingerprint swipe.
Anyway I'll probably repost this as a new thread because I can't find any info on this specific issue... I'll wait for a while before posting though...
