With some of the older Polar HRMs, you need to buy a Polar infrared interface to be able to connect the HRM to the computer (even if the computer has its own infrared port). But someone figured out how to hack the IR port on certain Dell laptops so that the HRM could communicate directly to the laptop via the laptop's IR port.

Anyone ever manage to do this with their Thinkpad?

Don't know if this helps, but I've got a T23 and a Polar 625X. I use the laptop's built in IR port to transfer data from the watch.

No, I'm looking for a hack that will let me use a Polar HRM (that was only designed to be used with Polar's IR interface) with my laptop's IR port. I think the 625x was designed to be used with third party IR ports.
