Can R&R exclude file types?

I see how I can set Rescue and Recovery to exclude files from a backup, using the "Optimize backup storage space" option. But can I set R&R to exclude certain file types?

This would streamline the backup process quite a bit.

It is possible to specify which files to backup, and which files to exlude. RnR can include or exlude an individual file, folder or an entire partition.
This in controlled by the following registry entries :
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\Settings\BackupList HKLM\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\Settings\ExcludeList
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\Settings\OSAppsList

In the Backuplist you must one line pr include or exclude.
-I includes files or folders that match the entry
(-I=*.dll)
-X to exlude files or folders that match the entry
(-X=?:\Documents and Settings\*\Local Settings\Temp\*)
-S for a Single Instance Storage of the file
(-S=?:\Notes\Data\archive.nsf)

Hope this helps :-)

Rescue and Recovery File Exclusion

RnR seems to balk at copying any open OS files. This is very annoying as I set it to run over night, yet it stops at the first file it cannot copy, e.g., a registry hive. So I wake up in the morning to find it only 25% completed with an open dialog box. I end up babysitting the backup process to select the "skip this file" feature in the dialog popup. And there are dozens!!!!

If RnR cannot copy open OS files, then what good will it be in recovering a broken OS?
