windows IP dissappeared
windows IP dissappeared
Anybody seen windows IP disappearing before?
When you type ipconfig
It just says "windows IP configuration" one line, nothing else When you goto the support tab on the Lan icon, it doesn't even give an IP address, it's all grey like the background. Not 0.0.0.0 not 169.. Just nothing.
help?
Thanks

nothing.. works..
Re: just tried the reinstall thing
Given all you have said against all the advice offered, then it appears to be system rebuild time at this point.shiyang wrote:and no red X's

Not sure if it will help, but I had a similar experience after having dowloaded and installed PC Doctor 5 for windows using the S/W installer:

The IP symptoms are exactly the same though. My only solution so far is has been to rebuild from scratch.

The utility from

is a life saver.

Re: windows IP dissappeared
before more drastic solutions, try this and see if it helps.shiyang wrote:Anybody seen windows IP disappearing before?

Start --> Run --> cmd hit ENTER
type netsh winsock reset hit ENTER, reboot.
I think what pietjepuk pointed is a small software that does just this, plus backs up your registry settings.
