Presentation Director resets resolution switching profiles

Hi-
I tried searching but I couldn't find any help. When I switch profiles using the presentation director (going from 1600x1200 to 1920x1200 or vice-versa) it always seems to reset my resolution to 800x600 in between. This is annoying as it causes all of my icons to be rearranged and my windows are all now out of place and really small. I was pretty sure it didn't always do this. Has anyone else had this problem or know if there is anyway to stop it from doing this? Thanks!
