Portable Drive Bay 2000 IDE PC-Card works with old PDB ?

#1 Post by tom_k » Sun Oct 22, 2006 8:08 pm

Hi

I would lke to know whether the mentioned :
IDE PC-Card Adaptor for the Portable Drive Bay 2000, FRU 19K4501 ,
will work with an earlier Portable Drive bay , FRU 37L1513
(its for devices fitting into a TP 600 multibay slot or TP570 Ultrabase)
I got one of them but it does not work with the above mentioned Connector FRU 19K4501,
though i suppose it should .
Can somebody confirm or check compatibility ,
so that i can be sure that the error is inside the case...

You can see all devices (+ some more:) on this photo

Thanks in advance , tom_k

I've both the PDB and PDB2K, the latter puchased off of eBay. Like most things on eBay, the PDB2K came with a USB cable, rather than a pc card connector, but the one from my PDB works with it. My card and connector are FRU 33L5033.

@epbrown

Thank you very much for your quick reply !
This was exactly the information i needed ,
so i`m going to check my PDB .

Seaching the forum for an answer , i have read your posts
regarding the PDB , thinking that you could know it.
Dont know if this is just by chance or destination , but i think its remarkable.

btw,
the two connectors on the photo came with one PDB2k (+ 2644-6BG etc in an alphaCC:) off ebay ,
so i hope that one of them is not that one you are missing :)
(in fact the Seller bought the 2nd because 1st has a bad contact sometimes,
so this cannot be the cause for "destination")

Thanks a lot again and kind regards , tom
