Core 2 Quadro Thinkpads?

#1 Post by RUSH2112 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 6:41 pm

I dont know much about the upcoming Core 2 Quadro processors, except that Intel is set to announce them 11/2, and theyre supposed to ship 11/14.

Does anyone know when a mobile version will be out, and when we can expect to see them in Thinkpads?

Considering laptop makers have only recently transitioned to Core2 Duo (takes time to design laptop arround new CPU, validate thermals, ...) and that Celerons are still P4 based, this will be mainly for servers and extreme edition at start. There will be a huge premium untill AMD manages to shift production to 65nm.

So I think they won't make it to laptop market for a year at least.

No, they have still yet to release even Kentsfield; so it is going to be quite awhile before we see even Quad-Core mobile systems from Intel. An iteration or so past Santa Rosa is when they will most likely start to gear up for that. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
