DVD-R's made with DVD Multi+ not readable in CD/RW

#1 Post by sausage888 » Mon Oct 30, 2006 12:57 pm

I have a bevy of ultrabay attachments. I have had good luck with making DVD's of various formats in my Matshita UJ830S (Ultrabay Enhanced DVD Multi+, P/N 13N6827) and reading them back in the same drive or a Toshiba SD-C2512 (8X DVD-ROM, P/N 27L4213).

However, I made a couple of DVD-R's with the DVD Multi+ using DLA and at the end "made them compatible". When I try to read back the DVD-R's with a Matshita UJDA720 (CD-RW/DVD-ROM, P/N 27L4359), the CD-RW/DVD can't read them. Only the DVD Multi+ or DVD-ROM ultrabays can read them.

Why? I thought making them compatible would make them readable in any DVD player...

Upgrade your CDRW/DVD drive's firmware.

Quick google search reveals this:

Already at v1.03

I did the firmware upgrade routine. The Matshita UJDA720 (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) was already at v1.03, so there was no upgrade to perform.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I have 2 CD/RW's

Just to be clear, I have two of the CD-RW/DVD-ROM ultrabay units (same model number) and neither of them can read the DVD Multi-Burner produced DVD. Just to rule out the defective unit theory.

Try different DVD/CD writing software. DLA does packet writing and might have compatibility issues.
