Adding a pci card to dock ll

I have a t42 and dock ll, thinking about adding a graphics card to the PCI slot in the dock. Will this help the graphics look better in my thinkpad lcd? In the bios it says "when PCI video card is installed in dock, if PCI is selected (in bios), PCI video card is used for the boot display device. If AGP is selected, internal AGP device is used for boot display device." I had read somewhere on this forum that putting a graphics card in the pci slot would only work with external displays, then I found this in the bios. Any advice would be appreciated as I don't want to use an external display, just "upgrade" my lcd.

No. The note you found only refers to which device the initial boot time displays appear on.

The ThinkPad LCD is always connected to the internal graphics display components of your ThinkPad.
