Ultrabay drive sleeves?

#1 Post by marlinspike » Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:30 am

The ultrabay drive says to put it in a protective sleeve when it's not in the laptop. Where can I buy such a sleeve? I see no such thing on Lenovo's website.
Thanks,
Richard

Back in 2001 my spanking new Thinkpad A22e, I got a sleeve to put either the Ultrabay 2000 Floppy Drive or the 24x CD-ROM Drive. I also get another one, buying a 2nd hard disk adapter for Ultrabay 2000.

I don't think those sleeves are available

According to another post, Lenovo no longer stocks FRU 05K4562. However lots appear to be available on ebay.

Personally, I bought several from this seller:

I especially like this seller since he allows the "Best Offer" option, so I was able to get a quantity for cheaper than is normal B-I-N price.

I bought ten from the same ebay seller and negotiated a much lower shipping cost. Two of the ten, even though in perfect condition, had the velcro on the flaps tearing away, so they shipped me two more with no problems. If you purchase some just have them check the flap velcro before they ship to save both of you a headache.
