Just wanted to make sure
Pretty much all the information and software you'll need is in the clone thread, you'll just have to provide the enclosure and drive. I use a firewire enclosure i picked up for around $20, a pcmcia firewire card $12 and (unfortunately I had to get a power source as the enclosure did not come with that.
Using the automatic selection in acronis is the easiest for straight up copying of an old drive.

Using Acronis, I've made a spare boot drive for all my computers. It costs a few bucks, not too much, and you'll get your investment back when your boot drive dies or you install that software that kills it or you have a virus or spyware incident. Either replace the dead drive or reverse clone it from your spare.
