Lenovo System Upadate

I am getting the below error message while trying to connect to the system update. I called Lenovo but they said it was becasue MS .net Framework 1.1 wasn't installed but before the installer package itself downloads it checks that 1.1 is installed. Any ideas?

"Error 42 recieved from the Package Index Server. Please contact the support center".
