Video driver for Thinkpad 370C needed

It's one of my collection notebooks.
But anywhere in the net i don't find videodriver for it's Western Digital videocard. That included in Win'98 don't work properly, only 16 colors palette; at other modes windows asking for reboot and after rebooting say that display settings not correct.
Help please!

Searching around, I found the following information. Not sure this will help you or not.

Service Pack 4 Replaces Western Digital ThinkPad Driver

SYMPTOMS
After you apply Service Pack 4 (SP4) to an IBM ThinkPad 755CE/CSE/CD/CX/CV/CDV, 750C/755C, 370C, or 345C, you cannot go to higher resolutions than VGA with 16 colors.

RESOLUTION
After applying SP4, reinstall the IBM driver downloaded from IBM again. The driver can be downloaded from IBM (www.ibm.com). It is a self extracting file named Vf75xwnt.exe.

I am also having trouble finding a Windows 98 specific driver for the Western Digital video chip: WD90C24A that is in the 370C.

I wonder if the information in the following article will work.

Windows 98 and Windows Me
1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
2. Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
3. Click the Adapter tab, and then click Change.
4. Click Next, click Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want, and then click Next.
5. Click Show All Devices.
6. In the Manufacturers box, click (Standard Display Types).
7. In the Models box, click Standard Display Adapter (VGA), click OK, and then click Next.
8. Click Next, click Next, and then click Finish.
9. Click Close, click Close again, and then click Yes to restart your computer.

I have a 750P that uses a WD90C24 (not the A version, I think).

It came with Win3.1, and needed a DOS TSR that gave the chipset VESA compliance, so the generic VGA driver would give me 640x480x8 bit color. As the 750P has a grayscale display, that was all I needed.

With 1MB VRAM, you should be able to get 24 bit color, or 800x600 at 16-bit, but IIRC, that would require more memory bandwidth than the bus will allow.

But I know I had 1024x768x8 bit working on an external display.

Anyway... you might be able to get that DOS VESA driver to allow Win98/Me to work.

Linux used to work, but the driver for that chip has not been ported to the new libraries.

It's going to take a lot of work to get a GUI on that machine with anything later than Win95.
