ThinkVantage gone !

#1 Post by toomak » Fri Dec 15, 2006 3:59 am

For some reason, when I press the ThinkVantage button, I get no response. Running it from the start menu results in a small window with no options listed. How can I fix it?
Thanks

You can try this:

Rescue and Recovery - Recovery repair diskette

Note, you may see a message about press F11 for Lenovo Technologies or something like that at boot up. Press F11.

Do you speak of the ThinkVantage software suite or the HPA RnR area?

Do you speak of the ThinkVantage software suite or the HPA RnR area? I think you are talking about the software suite; if so, that repair diskette won't help and you should grab either Software Installer or System Update 2 and you should get it back. You can also dowlload it here; see also the Productivity Center.

I'm speaking of the suite. I tried running the update program, but at 5% it shut down. I can still run every TV app through the start menu, but it's still annoying, not having the TV button available.

And it didn't reassign itself correctly even after you did a manual re-install from those links? :)

System Update didn't work. I missed the part about Software Installer. Now that I've tried it - it seems to be working! Thanks :)

Hmmm, I guess I could recommend that you stay with Software Installer for the rest of your updates to keep things organized. :)
