new here and driver ?

#1 Post by coffeenow » Wed Jan 03, 2007 7:10 pm

Hi, new to laptops. Just picked up a t23 and just started messing with it. I don't have a CD with it and do not have a video driver installed for the super savage for XP. I tried the IBM site and it will not download from there. Are there any other places to get drivers?

Thanks,

T

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

The Windows XP video driver for the T23 should be available from here:

Video driver (SuperSavage/IXC16) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad T23

Was this one the one you tried? Be sure to download the README file and follow all instructions. I did this with one of my systems a couple of months ago and it seemed to work okay.

Yes that's the one I tried to download. I searched a little more and think I found one. Am Installing at the moment, fingers crossed. My next thing is of course, wireless card, can't wait to find one and get the laptop on a home wireless network. New for me, but none the less fun to pass the winter time. :D

It worked, found the driver at www.driverslab.com. Things are in good color and contrast now.

What is the version level of the driver you are using? Access Display Properties/Advanced/S3Info Plus tab.

Or you could run Software Installer and get the latest drivers for everything.

Will this link to the driver page work?
Video driver (SuperSavage/IXC16) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad T23

How about this link to the driver itself?
vftp1a2x.exe
