model codes system

#1 Post by savarin » Fri Jan 05, 2007 11:19 pm

I bought used X40, under warranty. 2671-DHY, location Argentina is written on the IBM/Lenovo web.
Recovery partition is deleted, I called to IBM, I wanted to buy recovery CDs. Of course, what was the original language, was the answer.
I do not know.
We do not see it now, we call you today. It was two days ago.

And now i am waiting and thinking how to find the original language version. I did not find any special document on IBM/lenovo web.
In ltwbook.pdf there is only 2671-DHU model.
I have hypothesis - last letter "U" means US, ie. english. Then "F" could be French, "G" German, "J" Japanese.
But what is "Y"???
And in the end of the model code the are digits too (0,1, 2, ...)!!

I just like to know which version i can expect.
And to know if there is a system here.

Does somebody know it?
