Hardware Maintenance Disk on CD

#1 Post by richk » Sun Jan 07, 2007 11:29 pm

I tried to use Nero to create a bootable CD to use instead of the usual floppy. (version 1.74) Everything seems to work fine. The files are all copied; the CD is bootable, but I cannot get the eeprom unlocked. I hit ESC when I see the logo; I get the menu, but if I try to select the option to set system information, the program acts like I didn't hit ESC.

I think what is happening is that the error message is leading you to believe that the chip is write protected when actually the CD is write protected.
