I've searched but can't find the answers to my questions about the pending purchase of a used X60.
When one buys a used X60 what needs to be done to the machine to accept a "new fingerprint" and to delete an old one (the seller's)?
Is each fingerprint simply associated with a unique XP user? What if the seller had been the administrator and only user? Are my concerns unfounded?

You can "overwrite" the existing fingerprints with your own. Ideally, the previous owner should disable fingerprint security so that you can enroll your own prints when you receive the notebook. You can find more information at the Lenovo site: Fingerprint Reader tips - ThinkPad.
