Thinkpad warranty questions...

I just bought my t43 off ebay. It's in excellent condition, but i noticed that when i lift the laptop up unevenly , a ripple effect happens somewhere on the lcd.
It doesnt seem to effect the laptop normally, but i would hate it to turn into a problem later.
When i look up the s/n on lenovo's support site, it says my system has a warranty until 1/2/09.
How can i use this warranty if needed? Do i complete any kind of transfer of ownership or does the warranty simple go with the machine?
I also couldnt find anything on the warranty coverage. Lenovos site says to contact a local repairer, but there are none in my area. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Warranty follows the machine. You can register it on the Lenovo website however doing so will have no effect unless maybe there is a recall of a component.
The warranty service provider being used does not get good marks (Solectron). You would best be served by being careful with the notebook and not getting into a situation where that screen needs service. If you think it was bad when you received it then now is the time to contact the seller to get either a refund or a replacement.

The ripple effect is about the size of a dime and doesnt seems to happen often. The screen itself as well as the cover and rest of the laptop is in excellent ,brand new condition.
Since there is no visible sign of harm done to the laptop, i think i might as well keep it. I got a killer deal, and If one day , something does happen, at least i can fall back on the warranty. Unlike like a heating problem or something in the pc itself, a screen is obvious if it doesnt work. I just hope the warranty issue wont be too difficult with the lenovo's new service business.
