2nd hdd adapter and wiered windows behaviour

#1 Post by dorin » Tue Feb 13, 2007 6:49 am

hello,

my problem is quite wiered.. i got a 2nd hdd adapter but is not working as i thought it'd..

when booting without hdd adapter windows sees C1 (system, 1 as main hdd) and D1 (pers data partition on main hdd)

when booting from hdd adapter windows sees C1, D1 and surprise E2 !!!

i heard the when booting from hdd adapter then the system sees it as drive C, which is normal and the other ones as D and so on...well..not in my case. shouldnt be C2,D1,E1?!

i dont need to tell you what cunfusion in the programs it makes, it always try to install something, win32 services give a crash message...

any idea how to solve this problem?!

thanks,

dorin

If you're speaking of the overall boot sequence, it should be the optical drive first, then the primary hard drive, then whatever else you've got. That's so you can boot from the Windows CD or a Restore Disc of some kind.
The hard drive boot order should be your primary disc(usually the C drive), then the other drive.
