is it possible to install a bluetooth module into a thinkpad

#1 Post by setherd » Sun Feb 18, 2007 3:04 pm

Hi, I'm new here and have been reading a lot. Ihave decided to get most likely a T43 or T60. I'm trying to keep my costs down and often find a good deal on models without bluetooth.

So I wonder is it possible to add bluetooth or is it hardwired to the motherboard?

thanks!
take care,
Seth

The Bluetooth capability in a T4x is co-located with the PSTN modem and is a field upgradable component. AFAIK, all T43s come fitted with Bluetooth antennas but you should double check the upgradeability for the particular T43 model you are interested in.

Cheers,

Bill
