Hi !

Is it possible to upgrade a 2 or 2.16GHz Thinkpad T60p to a 2.33GHz system via simply replacing the CPU?

I'm talking about a Core 2 DUO system here.
I don't have a model # yet, but it would be most recent prodution.

Mr. BudC, you are my man, my main man that is.

A question for which I was prepared to battle wave after wave of meaningless drop-ins that had everything to do with anything but my real question, you answered in one single, simple sentence.

I love your style man :-) :-) :-)

And that thread has all the answeres, I think they should make it a sticky one!!!

OK, I'm dumb founded, I admit it.
All of a sudden I can't find ONE SINGLE T60p with 15" screen and UXGA resolution on eBay no more.
NOT ONE SINGLE SYSTEM!!!

At first I couldn't find any T60p with UXGA and 2.33GHz.
So I think to myself "fine, i just buy a 2.0GHz system and upgrade"

But now it seems that Lenovo pulled the UXGA screens completely in favor of their new 15.4" (W)SXGA displays.

Could this really be the case, or what?!?!

I was glad to help. I remembered that thread because I'd thought about upgrading myself. Good luck.

Thanks once more, but I think I might be out of luck as I just confirmed that there is not one single T60p with 15" UXGA screen left on eBay.
And I couldn't find one outside of eBay as well.

It looks like Lenovo did phase out the 15" UXGA display in favor of the 15.4" SXGA indeed.

What a foolish move!
