Help, Best way to remove xp/intel/ati stickers
I want to get rid of these things, since I feel they look tacky and are annoying feeling as well. Anyone remove these successfully without scuffing the palm rest? If so how did you remove them? I tried a second with my finger nail, but that didn't go anywhere fast.
Thanks, B

Heat will help, but there isn't any reason why you can't win this battle with a fingernail. You just have to have a bit of patience, and rub off whatever adhesive de-bonds from the sticker (that's less likely to happen if you heat things up a bit) as it comes up.
In other words, there isn't any real magic to doing this: just peel them off, and clean up the residue with your thumb.

I second Army Chief's suggestion about a fingernail, they'll come up fairly easy. When I took mine off the XP sticker seemed to have more glue on it than the others. Just be careful about what you use to remove the residue left behind; a soft cloth and a mix of water and isopropyl alcohol should do the trick. I've heard of people using olive oil and they swear by it, but I don't feel like cooking my TP. Also, take them off soon because if you wait a few months you may have "shadows" left behind where the stickers were.

Thanks for the input. The xp one was just stuck on really tight, but the swiss army knife popped it up with ease, and a simple rub with the thumb got rid of the goo. Had this for a few months and just now took them off, but there is no sign of uneven wear so all is well. Looks alot better without those silly stickers, I guess thats why I like the thinkpads in general--simple and sleek.

It's probably too late for you, but rather than throwing mine away I re-stuck them on the bottom of my machine, just for 'historical' value
[Which is where they belong in the first place
