LCD issue - not sure how to describe

#1 Post by slackjeep » Thu Mar 01, 2007 7:49 pm

I recently purchased a T41 off ebay. It seems fine however upon start up, after the XP screen but before the blue screen, I see a white line on the bottom right where the same line is on the blue screen. (sorry, I hope this makes sense)

I don't see the line in any applicaitons or on a black desktop.

Upon power down, right before it turns off, I see a bolder line, almost like burn in. In addition, it looks like the lcd crystals (?) are pouring to the left of the screen. It is very subtle and hard to see unless the light is right.

I hope this makes sense.

My question: I have about 30 days left on warranty with IBM and was wondering a) has anyone experienced what I'm describing (poorly) and b) should I send the laptop in for repair/review, and 3) should I even be worried about it?

Thanks
dorys

You should definitely call about this. Be insistent that the display is not normal, and they should take care of you, and it. There's no good reason to put up with a substandard display from a machine that is covered by warranty.
