ThinkPad Dock I fan noise vs. ThinkPad Dock II fan noise

Is the ThinkPad Dock II fan quieter? I just destroyed the ThinkPad Dock (2631) while trying to disconnect the fan. I would consider buying the Dock II if it is quieter...

From what I know, I'd have to say probably not. They most likely use the same (or similar) fans, but I have no way to be sure as I've never owned a dock. You might want to check the date they were created, as newer fans do tend to be quieter. Also, if you can, you might want to make sure there wasn't a buildup of dust or something that would cause the old one to create excess noise.

The ThinkDock II is actually quieter. I bought it while Lenovo has their clearance sale. It works great under OpenBSD!
