Hey everyone,

I have an issue with my newly acquired Thinkpad R60. I help teach an SAP based class. Often times, a students laptop will not be working properly so I would like to let them just use mine. The only problem is I do not want them to have access to my files and other things important to my computer. I wanted to create a guest log in on the windows welcome screen, but this screen is bipassed by the TVT_GINA.dll file. I assume this has to do with the security chip on the Thinkpad. Does anyone know if I can create another login for my computer?

I have no experience with the T60 (or fingerprint ID), but personally I would not lend my TP (or PC for that matter) to anyone.
For anybody's convenience you should obtain an extra laptop, even of a lesser model, for just such occasions, for which you should have an image ready on CD/DVD to restore back, if anything should happen.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I have multiple logins on my T42p with CSS under WinXP.

Create the new logins from Windows Control Panel and assign the passwords and rights as needed. When you bring up the CSS login box just type the user name of the appropriate login and enter the corresponding password. Works fine.

The is also a policy you can set to suppress the username of the last login, so the CSS login username field is always blank when it comes up.

I don\'t recommend Guest account for anyone (close friends or whoever).. Just set up another basic account (non admin) for that person and set a simple disposable password to that account.
