Client Security Solution message

#1 Post by house kitten » Wed Apr 04, 2007 12:32 pm

I have restored due to wirless issues and elected not ito install the CSS. There is an option in the restore program. When my system was restored I noticed is shows up in the add and remove lsting, so I removed it. I spoke with Lenovo re my wireless issues and their response was to update BIOS (which I already had) and get the update for ACPI. I did that but now I get a message that says:

"Client Secuity Solution:
There was a problem connecting to a critical service. It is possible that anti-virus or firewall software is blocking the connection. Also check to see that the TPM device driver is installed and enabled."

When I was in the BIOS I disabled the security chip (because I do not need it). Is this what the message refers to and if so why is it installing after I chose not to and also after uninstalling? And what is the TPM (assuming thinkpad power manager)?

Do I need CCS? I also am not using the fingerprint reader.

BTW Lenovo told me I did an excellent job troubleshooting (I guess so good they have no solutions but to tell me to update power management to get better wireless coverage)

Never mind. Apparently if I go into the BIOS and choose inactive instead of disabled, the message goes away.

I still do not want it on my system.
