Hello all.

I was curious. Since my question dosen't pertain to any specific model of thinkpad, or manufacturer for that matter, I thought I would post it here.

Is there any after-market unit that will allow laptops to recieve broadcast TV signals, and display them on the screen? Not looking for internet TV broadcasts, just general public TV broadcasts?

Thanks-

Hello, yes Hauppauge makes a USB TV tuner for the PC or laptop. Check it out.

Purcy,

I appreciate your reply!!! Problem is that I have a i1300 Thinkpad and it only has USB 1.1, not 2.0. They won't work on 1.1. I was on eBay when I got your reply and there is a PCMCIA tuner that may work on this thing! (didn't know they had such a thing) I want to do some more research to see, first. Minimum CPU needed is 500mhz, PII, and mine is 700mhz.

For those who also want to know what I run into, I'll post a reply when I find out more!
