ok here's the deal..

This is the last day to decide if I want to add the "extended" warranty on my recently purchased used Thinkpad T23 from ebay. (paid $300),

If purchased it will provide a 24 months warranty that will repair it for free (no deductable) or fully refund the purchase price should anything go wrong (non user related). There is currently no warranty since it was a used item.

The pc is currently working fine, and I will be only be using it once a week for weekends. It will be docked.

I have limited experiences with laptop style pcs (always had desktops) so not sure how durable and everlasting the thinkpads are. i.e. is there a high percent of MB's that just die?

need some opinions on this,

bottom line..Should I buy this warranty for $35?

I am normally not into extending warranties because they are very expensive, but only $35 for 24 months???? Go for it!

I had to have the motherboard of my T30 replaced with two weeks left on the warranty.
Normally, I'm not a fan of extended warranties, but for only $35, it seems like a pretty good idea.

the warranty comes from Square Trade, as it was an ebay purchase.

They charge 10% of the purchase price on new and used items.

still deciding....hmmmm...

I dunno... if something seems too good to be true, it probably is (especially with anything to do with eBay). :? I Googled "square trade", and the most popular results don't exactly instill confidence in me. This is not an IBM/Lenovo warranty, in any case.

I would not trust any warranty but one from Lenovo.
