IPass Failure to LogIn

I have an x60s and thought to try out the IPass service promoted by Lenovo with a menu item in Access Connections. I'm in Pennsylvania, USA and thought why pay for tmobile and att wifi when ipass will do both.

I signed up with the service, dl'ed the IPass Connect_Lenovo executable, installed and I get no where. I'm not certain the IPass software installed properly, but am not sure that is the problem. I was on with level 1 tech at sayers.com for 30 minutes and they were not able to solve the problem. the tech guy said I was only the 3rd call in a year. (Made me feel rather dumb.)

My understanding is that to log on at a site, such as Barnes & Noble, all i need to do is enter the correct username and password and identify IPass. At B&N (ATT Wifi), all I get is a message from sbc.secure.com that the login is not accepted. I've tried to login at 2 B&N, 2 starbucks (t-mobile) and 1 McDonald - all with no success.

I've searched for other messages about IPass and see that i have all 3 required processes running. the reason i think the software may not be installed properly is because there is no ability to select a wifi adapter in the Connections menu, nor is there a list of available connections on the front screen. I've been assuming that these items were intentionally dis-abled as part of the reduced price for the Lenovo program, but am only guessing. I connect ok using AC or MS, just can't get past the logon screen.

I read info at iRoam.com, the canadian arm of iPass, and they said that to logon one should add the domain name at the end of the user name. i tried adding @sayers.com to the end of my username with no affect. At iPass.com, my account is identified as running and active. I also thought it may take a few days for the username and ID to percolate through the various authentication servers. It's now been 2 weeks since I joined and still no logon. Any suggestions?

I am using V3.5 and it works for Dial Up. I have not tried Wireless, but I see the tab there for it, and it uses my wireless card. That is about all I know, so I probably cannot assist. ... JDH

No. I signed up separately with iPass (actually with Dialer.net which got absorbed by iPass) and I downloaded the file from iPass. I don't know how that might affect things. ... JDH
