RecordNow update doesn't work

Hi everyone,
I have a R40 with a DVD/CD-RW that has the latest firmware installed. I have IBM RecordNow installed too, and I wish to upgrade it to the latest version that can be downloaded from Lenovo's web site. However it won't upgrade my IBM RecordNow and claims that there is no suitable version for upgrade.
Does anyone have any way to make this upgrade work?

I know that software is created specific to different computer manufacturer and comes pre-installed, but I'm just curious if one of the regular version updates would work:

Unfortunately, they don't have an update for my version of RecordNow - 4.10. They only have updates for 6.5 and later.

Hi. I'm having the same exact problem. I have IBM RecordNow 4.5, and the upgrade to the latest version won't recognize it.
I spoke to IBM support and their only suggest was to send the machine back.
If anybody has a suggestion/solution - or a better suggestion of what to use for a DVD burner, I'd appreciate it.
(I don't want to use the latest Nero as it's waaaay too bloated, with stuff I don't need or want.)
Thanks in advance.

Try ImgBurn, available here:
http://www.imgburn.com/
It's free for the full version, which is only a 1.5 mb (you read that right) download. Admittedly basic, but support for various make/model drives is great, and well, it is free, so it's worth a try. Just remember to set the mode to "build" in the drop down menu.
I made the mistake of shelling out for Nero before discovering ImgBurn and finding that it handled some of my tasks ever better than Nero.

Well I bought a copy of Nero Express 6.6 OEM Suite on ebay for $1.69 and you can just install the Nero burning app and leave the rest of the stuff; not too big of an app that way. I would not send back my laptop just because an OEM app didn't upgrade; granted it should but you can get other programs for very little cost.

Ebay was where I got Nero at a similar price, but the Express version has restricted features, like problems with long UDF filenames and large files. I guess you get what you pay for.
