IBM Tivoli Continuous Data Protection

#1 Post by akhavan » Thu May 24, 2007 1:48 pm

Hi,

I have been using CDP since October and its a great backup software. People who do a lot of work with words and excels documents would find it great. I have seen a lot of discussions regarding backup and this is a nice one.

And no I do not work for IBM, Tivoli etc :-)

what kind of overhead does this solution provide? it seems like it would make every time you save a file take 3 times as long to finish due to the decreased bandwidth of network connections.

I'm not using any network. I use a second USB hard drive and there is no delay for save with word or excel.
