That seems low to me. My T41p (a rebuild with 1.7Ghz Dothan instead of 1.7Ghz Banias) gets over 1300 with 3dmark05 (omega drivers plus tpfancontrol and NHC both used to keep Laptop cool enough).

Definitely seems a bit low. My ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (T42) with Omega drivers is getting 1073.

EDIT - Oddly enough, Futuremark is reporting my video card as having 128MB of video memory, but I can assure you I only have 64MB of video memory. Very odd..

2373-GEU T41p, 1.5GB RAM, 7K100 HD.

PCMark - 3081

CPU Score - 3049

Am I doing something wrong?

James

I believe he was looking at the 3dMark score, but it wasn't stated so I'm not sure.

James,
Are you using PCMark instead of 3DMark05?

Did you downloaded the latest BIOS and driver? Because it either boosted or changed the ram figure. Mine is now showing 256MB even though it's a 128MB card.

But I don't see any performance enhancement.

I ran 3dMark05 with BIOS v3.19 and the latest Omega Drivers (Catalyst 6.2, I believe). I'm guessing the Omega Drivers caused 3dMark to think that my video card has 128MB of video memory, but my system still reports 64MB of video memory.

I got around 1050 with Omega Drivers on T42 w/ 64MB 9600, and around 1150 when I overclocked the card. The 128MB version should get around 1300, as reported by tselling.

However, if you're running the T41p on stock FireGL drivers, it may be the cause of reduced performance.

the extra memory is ATI's new hypermemory thing they biult into all of there recent drivers i got a t43p with fireglv3200 (x600) 128mb and ive seen it report 256 due to atis new thing, there are some gains from it, but it has a alot of different factors for some computers it makes all the difference and for some, just marginal

i had a a31 that after new drivers went from 16to 64mb of vid memory that let me play a few more games smoothly

my t41 went from 32 to 128 and i noticed nothing

the t43p with it shows a nice boost

Is it included with the recent Omega drivers?

yes it is its even an option you can change with the omega drivers, and with it on the firegl it rates at 256

Just for kicks I ran 3DMark05 on my system (config in signature):

3DMark: 911

CPU: 3689

Not blazing, by any stretch, but I can still play my favs. I've not changed drivers to the Omega ones yet, though.

I also benchmark my T41p before and after upgrade :

IBM Thinkpad T41p

Mobility Radeon FireGL T2 128 Mo
Pentium M 1,7 GHz (Banias)
Score 3D Mark 2003 : 2536
Score 3D Mark 2005 : 1000

IBM Thinkpad T41p upgrade Dothan 1,7 GHz

Mobility Radeon FireGL T2 128 Mo
Pentium M 735
Score 3D Mark 2003 : 2536 -> 2830 (+11,6%)
Score 3D Mark 2005 : 1000 -> 1247 (+24,7%)

Nice boost with a second hand Dothan (100 €) !
