Mouse-settings resets on reboot

Have just got a R60 with XP-pro.
XP is Updated, and all updates from Lenovo.

When I change the mouse-settings (ie mouse-speed) it runs at the settings, untill the PC is rebooted, then the settings go back to default.
I don't believe I have made some changes, that will reset the mouse-seetings on shotdown/reboort.

Hope somebody has a suggestion

I believe these types of things are caused when there are registry problems. When Windows is rebooted, it loads up a backup copy of the registry which does not contain your changes. Take a look in Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer for errors. You can clear the events, reboot and more easily see where your problem may lie. Also take a look at the following file: C:\WINDOWS\Debug\UserMode\userenv.log (you can open it with Windows Notepad). You can delete that file, reboot, then look at it again. It will show if there are registry problems.

As to how to solve these problems, I can only give some guesses. Try running a registry cleaner program. You can also try downloading and installing UPHClean from Microsoft.
