T60 won't boot

Hi everyone,
Until recently, I had a dual boot system on T60 laptop with windows xp and ubuntu (I installed Ubuntu myself). That worked fine.
A few days ago windows crashed and I decided to reinstall it using restore to factory settings option in R&R (I didn't mind wiping out Ubuntu). When R&R finished its work I rebooted and got a Grub error 22. It won't boot and I cannot access the R&R partition.
I guess that Grub messed up mbr or boot sector. It's a pity, but I didn't make a mbr backup before installing Ubuntu.
Some people in this forum suggested downloading MBR Repair Kit from lenovo site but it's all in the diskette version which is no good to me since I don't have a floppy drive.
Kinda desperate to get this problem solved.
Thanks so much folks.
