Question on fixing cracked plastic on x30 palmrest

I just picked up a nice x30. The left front palmrest, above the battery has a 2" crack. Can I use a special glue underneath it, above the battery compartment. If so what is the best type of glue to use.
Thanks,
Ron

If there is enough space, use a small strip of woven fiberglass and fiberglass components. Alternatively, try 2-component Araldit or single-component Loctite.

Any other ideas on this? Different glues possible?
Thanks,

I would recommend using an epoxy. If at all possible, glue some fabric on the backside of the plastic piece. This will result in a much stronger repair. Any kind of fabric will work, but fiberglass cloth would be ideal.
When choosing the epoxy to use, look for one that is either clear or black (assuming the piece you are glueing is black) for the least visible repair.

I posted a fix using Loctite® All Plastics Super Glue. This is a two part glue system, claims to work on all plastics.
It held for about a month, and then cracked again, so I would not recommend it.

I think that's what I bought. I haven't used it yet. Loctite makes many types of specialty glue.

Here's a thread that mentions $44 plus shipping/tax from Lenovo.

Without some kind of backing on the backside, I doubt if any type of adhesive will last for any length of time.
