Bootable PC Doctor Problems

I was pleased to see in a thread in the T4X Forum that PC Doctor was available as an .ISO image. As none of my Thinkpads have floppy drives, I hadn't been able to use this program.

Not having a laptop here in the office today, I decided to at least ensure that things would work, as I've never been comfortable dealing with .ISO files. I downloaded the freeware ISORECORDER and installed it on my office desktop (an XP Pro machine). I downloaded the cited <gobbldygook>.ISO from Lenevo, and did what I thought was correct to burn that image with ISORECORDER to a blank CD.

I then booted up another desktop machine with that CD, realizing that it probably wouldn't work right but would at least prove that I'd done things correctly.

Here's what happened:

I got the startup menu for PC DOS with one choice: Thinkpad T3x...etc, etc. I selected it.

I got the following:

Please wait, copying startup files...
No configuration file found
PC-Doctor DOS configuration file is used.
Please wait, unpacking diagnostics...
4 occurances of: Bad command or file name
Path not found
Another: Bad command or file name
Done

Missing PCDR.INI file.

(command prompt).

I suspect none of this has anything to do with the fact that I was booting on a Dell desktop.

Can anyone tell me if I created the ISO CD incorrectly, did something obviously wrong, or completely misunderstand what I was supposed to do?

I would say that you burned the .ISO image properly to the CD as you were able to boot off of it. The errors you are seeing may be a result of the "improper hardware" that PC Doctor is detecting on the Dell desktop. I don't have my Gateway laptop with me at the moment to try out a T22 PC Doctor CD I have so I can't say for sure that this is what's happening.

edit: I was able to try a copy of PC Doctor for my A31 (and the T4x so it should be the same disk as yours) in one of my T23 systems and this is what happened... PC Doctor Startup menu, copying files, No configuration file found, PC-Doctor DOS defalut config used, unpacking diags, bad command (4x), path not found, bad command (1x), Done :) , Missing PCDR.INI file, DOS prompt. It looks like you can't run it on non-supported systems.
