non oem replacement batteries from ebay?

#1 Post by zyce » Mon Jun 18, 2007 11:18 pm

Hello,

My extended battery on my z60t died (1% - system says it has irreplaceable damage) and i'm looking to buy a new replacement battery.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the non-oem batteries from ebay?

Thank you!

i bought a reputable one from the usa,and have no regrets, the eeproms calculate memory better than ibms rorted batterys, never lose capacity with that aftermarket that battery in over 2 years.
if it was ibm it would read wear rate falsely and make you beleive it needs replacing when it doesnt.

Lion ion batteries lose about 30% of their capacity after just one year of normal use.

If your non OEM battery is reporting to you that it hasn't lost any capacity in over two years, then clearly something is wrong with that battery.

All the problems I had with aftermarket batteries had to do with the SMART circuitry that transfered data between the computer and the battery. The cells were fine, the circuitry, not so hot. False condition readings during charging and in the Control Panel are a sign of this.
