Upgrade a T2400 (CoreDuo) to T7300 (Core2Duo) NOT POSSIBLE

An article on the Merom (laptop Core2Duo) on Anandtech said that without a doubt the Core2duo was backward compatible with the CoreDuo processor, meaning if your chipset/bios supported the Core2, you could upgrade and enjoy the 64-bit support.
I'm sitting here now with laptops all in disarray because I wanted to upgrade a CoreDuo machine to a Core2Duo and the PINOUT ISN'T THE SAME
So just a warning for everyone out there, the Santa-Rosa spec Merom is in no way compatible with a Yonah-based computer.
THIS IS INCORRECT INFORMATION:
"Every owner that own a Core Duo based laptop can upgrade the Yonah ( Core Duo ) for the Merom ( COre 2 Duo ) by simply put out Yonah and place the Merom on the socket. Same socket, same number of pins, same chipset, same motherboard ... the only difference between Yonah and Merom is that Merom has a few upgrade in term of technology like the Advanced SmartCache ( SmartCache in Yonah ), a better performance-per-watt ratio than the Yonah ( Yonah is about 30 % faster than a Single-Core if we disable one core ), SSE4 instructions sets ( for games ) and the biggest upgrade, the x86-64 instruction sets ( in other words, the 64 bits technology )."
If I had a T7200, the upgrade would work AOK. But no, it's a T7300. my only option is to also install the santa-rosa motherboard in all it's intel integrated graphics horror.. goodbye forever NVidia quadro 110m
