cannot connect proxyserver

dear sir,
on my new T60 suddenly when i want to update the system i get the message : 'cannot connect to the proxyserver' : is it my laptop or is it the server that is the trouble ?

Many update applications now inherit their connection settings from Internet Explorer. Make sure "Use Proxy Server" is turned off in IE in Options in the Connections tab. .. JDH

it's turned off
Perhaps it has something to do with zone alarm ?

Possibly. In my experience, firewalls generally allow internet traffic initiated by the computer, but it is worth checking.

hm, zone alarm is'nt the problem. I have to search elsewhere
