Rescue and Recovery Backup to Network

#1 Post by PaulS » Thu Aug 16, 2007 9:00 pm

I am using Rescue and Recovery v3.01 to backup my Thinkpad T40 (1.6 Ghz) with approx 77 GB on the harddrive. I am connected with a network attached storage device over a Gb network. When I run the backup to complete an incremental backup, it takes about 18 hrs to complete the backup. I find this an intolerable situation. I want the backup to complete overnight so that I am free to use the computer as I please without worrying about the backup occuring in the background.

I would appreciate if other users could indicate how long it takes to complete their harddrive backup. I want to know where the bottleneck is, i.e. with the network attached storage device, the computer or the backup software.

Incidently, the backup software often stops at a particular file and requests user input before proceeding (whether to copy the file or skip). Can this behaviour be turned off?

My experience with Rescue and Recovery to CD's is that it is very slow. Much slower than Backup MyPC.
