Two finger touch?

#1 Post by ChemPaulND » Sun Aug 19, 2007 7:45 pm

Recently, at work, I was using a MacBook Pro and got fairly accustomed to doing a two finger tap on the touchpad to right click. There was also a nice two finger scroll. Is there anyway that I can do that with my Thinkpad?

I don't use touchpad so I can't comment whether it would work or not. But I can point you to the right direction: (Below is how I see it in Vista, you can find UltraNav in the mouse settings of Control panel in Windows XP)

Right Click on your Desktop > Personalization > Mouse Pointers > UltraNav > Touchpad > settings. [You must have UltraNav drivers installed to see this].

You can experiment with options in Tapping and Buttons etc.

AFAIK, with the options in ultranav you can't do two finer tapping as in Macs. However, as ryengineer pointed out, you can set up 'tap zones' for the 4 corners of your touch pad, and assign individual functions to it - like bringing up the right-click menu, pressing the 'start' button on desktops etc.
