Hi,

I have the R60 9461-54G with one extra 512MB stick added. I have no idea what the "dual channel" or "interleaved mode" are, but I'd like to know whether my Thinkpad's RAM is in dual or single(?) channel.

What are the default settings? How to check them? Will it possible to change these defaults?

I've run briefly through BIOS settings but found nothing in the settings->memory section.

It is most likely in asynchronous dual-channel mode. Just slightly less performance than with matching memory modules, but still better than a single. CPU-Z can give you info on memory, it's free to download, just do a google search for it and it'll turn up.
