I've bought a ThinkPad z61p, works like a charm as expected.
However, I installed Notebook Hardware Control (NHC), to see if it would
do better than the ThinkPad power utilities. I found that NHC was
fine, but to create power profiles, you have to buy the professional
edition - which I do not intend to do. So I wanted to return to the
ThinkPad utility for power management - since it has got profiles -
but realised that NHC had taken over the management of power profiles.
Which means, that the ThinkPad utility simply doesn't work!
In NHC I've disabled ACPI control, but it doesn't really help..
Neither does uninstalling NHC - when I use Fn + F3 to open the
power manager, I can't select any profile. And all my custom profiles
are gone. When selecting one of the two standard profiles, nothing
happens, and I cannot create new profiles as well. I really don't want
to run system restore already, so if someone knows the answer,
I'll be happy to know it!
Thanks in advance.
