How/Where can I uninstall Battery MaxiMiser?

Hey guys,
I use Notebook Hardware Control for power management on my X31. I want to uninstall IBM's Battery MaxiMiser program, because I don't need both running.

But I can't find any way to uninstall it! It's not listed under Add/Remove Programs, and I can't find its own Uninstaller. So, is there a way to get rid of it?

Thanks!
John

That's strange... I can see it in the "Add or Remove Programs" listing on my T23 running Windows XP SP2. It shows up as "IBM ThinkPad Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features". What OS are you running and are you logged in under an Administrator account?

Ok, I just answered my own question. You need to use the (incompletely named) Software Installer to uninstall it.

So it's gone now. But for some reason, the little battery icon is still down there in the system tray. It's there along with NHC's icons. Strangely, I have unchecked the "Show Icon in System Tray" option...but there it is nevertheless.

Thanks Ray.

I'm running XP Home SP2 and I have only one user account so, by default, it's an Admin. account.

Hey John Henry, so you use Notebook Hardware Control!
Since you got your problem solved, maybe you can help me!

Do you know how to DISABE NHC, and ENABLE the ThinkVantage power
management? If you know, could you please answer in my thread?

Are you talking about the default XP Battery icon? That's there whenever you run on batteries to remind you of your battery status.

Now Battery Miser isn't the samething as NHC so i'd leave it in. Not sure if your x31 has those features but there's some stuff like Battery Thresholds that NHC can't manage. If your system doesn't have it then i guess it doesn't matter :)

I assume you are talking about NHC when you say that you unchecked the "Show Icon in System Tray"?
Using NHC you can click on the "Show advanced battery settings" and check "Hide the default system battery icon...." as well. On my PC that seems to be able to hide the default battery icon in systray sometimes, but not always for some reason.
Also as SHoTTa35 said NHC doesn't have all the features as the battery maximiser so i would suggest to keep it.
