Trouble Playing DVD's

#1 Post by billsite34 » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:30 pm

ThinkPad 390X 2626 LNU/ 384MB RAM Windows XP. I am having trouble playing DVD's. They are jerky and the sound sometimes is distorted. I have tried Power DVD and VideoLAN VLC and still have the same problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not very familiar with the capabilities of the 390X, but check in Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers > Primary IDE Channel and Secondary IDE Channel > Advanced Settings. AFAIK, you should be using DMA mode. If you are using PIO mode, that may be your problem. If you are in PIO mode, check the following link.
